UMIG Stock Market Competition (SMC)

The UMIG Stock Market Competition (UMIG SMC) is a trading and investing competition where participants manage a $100,000 equity portfolio over a six month trading period. The competition provides students with an opportunity to learn about managing a portfolio and researching stocks while gaining practical experience investing and trading in the market. There will be 19 cash prizes totaling $8000 awarded to participants based on the performance of their trading account as well their attendance at meetings. Additionally, Great-West Life representatives will be making presentations at various UMIG meetings throughout the year spanning a wide range of financial topics and backgrounds. All students interested, regardless of prior investing experience are strongly encouraged to participate.
