UMIG Portfolio
UMIG members are responsible for managing two portfolios, a balanced growth portfolio that essentially educates members on passive investing for the long term as well as an actively managed portfolio. UMIG aims to create an environment similar to a small investment firm, assigning different roles and tasks to group members while working together to generate the best performance. Analysts are selected from within the group to do research and present new developments for different sectors of the market. Members with a background or experience in economics will also provide commentary and explain the microeconomic events affecting the domestic and global economy. UMIG encourages students with different majors and backgrounds to participate in the group as their unique experience and specialization in different industries will be beneficial to the group.
