UMIG Member Registration
September 8 - September 23
UMIG membership registration for the 2010-2011 year will begin on Buddy Day, September 8, 2010 and continue until the UMIG Information Session on September 23, 2010. Membership dues for the year will be a $20 flat fee which will include: a UMIG notepad portfolio, entry into the UMIG Stock Market Competition, eligibility to apply for a spot on the New York Finance Trip, a discounted ticket to the UMIG Wine & Cheese and the ability to attend all UMIG meetings, workshops and events. A signup booth will be located in Drake lobby throughout the registration period. See you on Buddy Day!!!
UMIG Stock Market Competition (Registration Begins September 2010)
Do you have what it takes? UMIG and Great-West-Life will be introducing a new stock market investing competition this year. Spanning 6 months, including two quarterly and a full year trading period, this is a great way to gain some experience and maybe even win some cold hard cash. Whether you have no trading experience, or you’re a regular Wall Street Warrior, you’ll have plenty of time to harness your skills with the included workshops, discussion, and presentation by Great-West Life representatives. With a Grand Prize of $2500 and $8000 in total prizes this is an opportunity you can’t miss.

New York City Finance Trip
The University of Manitoba Investment Group will be participating in the highly anticipated Annual New York Finance Trip, which will take place in early January. Applications for the New York Finance Trip are due at midnight on October 22, 2010 and final selections will be completed by October 31, 2010. Details for the trip can be found in the Finance Trip tab and additional inquiries can be made to the UMIG executive email.
